Ruins of Herculaneum
HOW TO REACH HERCULANEUMLocated in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum(Italian: Ercolano) was an ancient Roman town destroyed byvolcanic pyroclastic flows in 79 AD. Its ruins are located in the commune of Ercolano, Campania, Italy.
By Car: take the A3 highway, direction Napoli, and exit at Ercolano. Follow the brown signposts to Ercolano Scavi. Parking available next to the entrance. Length: 25 minutes.
By train: catch the Circumvesuviana train from the station behind the Church of Pompei. Direction: Napoli. Stop: Ercolano Scavi. Trains to Herculaneum depart 16 minutes passed every hour (8:16 - 9:16 etc.).

Opening time
1 April 31 October: every day from 8:30 to 19:30 (last entrance at 18.00)
1 November - 31 March: every day from 8:30 to 17:00 (last entrance at 15:30)
Tickets
Herculaneum one day ticket - Regular 13,00; Free ticket: for UE citizens under 18 yo and over 65.
(*) Reduced ticket: for UE citizens between 18-25 years old and for UE teachers
Free and reduced tickets can be assigned only proving age with a valid ID or passport
