Daily stages
Many tourists when they organize their travel in Italy think that in Pompeii there is only the archaeological site to visit; only later they realize about how many wonderful places make our country one of the most appreciated tourist destinations all over the world.
For this reason, the Hotel Diana*** and Resort Bosco de' Medici’s**** staff would like to propose you a Holiday with daily stages.
From Hotel Diana and Resort Bosco de' Medici all the following places are easy and fast to reach both by public transports or by car.
1st day: a dive in the ancient atmosphere of Pompeii ruins (5 minutes on foot from the Hotel DIana, 15 minutes on foot from the Resort Bosco de' Medici) where with the help of a good guide you could enjoy yourself to trace a way to the discover of the past, you can ask some information to our knowledgeable and friendly staff…Don’t miss the famous cathedral of “Beata Vergine del Rosario” that is very well known for miracles. After such an exciting day, we recommend a very good restaurant for the evening, where they will serve you typical Mediterranean food cooked with love and art.
2nd day: wake up with a rich breakfast and then a trip by bus from the hotel to the top of mount Vesuvius from where you can admire the crater of the volcano that destroyed Pompeii and the beautiful scenery of the Gulf of Naples.
In the afternoon a visit to Herculaneum’s ruins.
One highlight is the House of Deer. The House of the Mosaic of Neptune and Amphitheatre is famous for the breathtaking mosaic. The city is 500m downhill from the Ercolano stop on the Circumvesuviana train.
3rd day: Naples (It takes 30 minutes by bus or by train). We suggest: the National Archaeological Museum (closed on Tuesday), that is not merely one of the most remarkable collections of ancient exhibits in the world, its galleries house, the treasures from Herculaneum and Pompeii, the repository of obscene artefacts illustrating the erotic side of life for the ancient Romans. And then…Castel Nuovo, Umberto I Gallery, San Carlo Theatre, the Royal Palace, piazza del Plebiscito, piazza dei Martiri, Via Caracciolo, Castel dell’Ovo, and why don’t eat the real Neapolitan pizza!!! Naples is a wonderful city, both for the historical-artistic monuments and for its infinite beauty.
4th day: You can cover the winding Amalfi Coast, from Sorrento to Salerno, by car, bus or ferries. You can stop to visit the small characteristic marine villages such as Positano, Amalfi, Maiori, etc. We suggest our car tour to discover beautiful places unknown by tourists.
5th day: destination Capri! Taking bus n. 3 (grey bus) at the square, in few minutes you will arrive at the station where there is a train that goes to Sorrento. At the port of Sorrento you board a ferry to the island of love and craziness, where Salvador Dalì walked with his coloured rooster.
6th day: the wonderful Royal Palace in Caserta (closed on Tuesday) that was listed among the World Heritage Sites runs to some 1200 Royal Rooms, and the gardens that you can visit on foot or by coach.
